Coconut Production in India - 2022
Coconut production in India reduced to 14M tons in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the year before. The total output volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2017 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 47%. As a result, production reached the peak volume of 16M tons. From 2019 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum. Coconut output in India indicated a moderate increase, which was largely conditioned by a pronounced increase of the harvested area and notable growth in yield figures.

The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the period from 2017 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 64% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $17.6B. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.
Coconut Harvested Area in India - 2022
In 2022, the total area harvested in terms of coconuts production in India contracted modestly to 2.2M ha, approximately mirroring 2021. Over the period under review, the harvested area, however, showed a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 2.6% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. As a result, the yield reached the peak level of 7.8 tons per ha. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the average coconut yield remained at a lower figure.
