Durum Wheat Production in Estonia - 2022
In 2022, approx. 842K tons of durum wheat were produced in Estonia; approximately reflecting the year before. Over the period under review, the total production indicated notable growth from 2017 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last five-year period. The durum wheat harvested area peaked at 170K ha in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the harvested area remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, wheat price growth is forecast to slow down with sufficient global production and falling demand for feed grains in the U.S. and the EU. Global wheat output is set to remain at the 2021’s level of approx. 777M tons.
The average annual wheat price in the U.S. is forecast to drop by 2% y-o-y to $250 per ton in 2022, falling on reduced domestic consumption coupled with stable supply worldwide.
