Mango and Mangosteen Production in Peru - 2022
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in production of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas, when its volume decreased by -2.1% to 530K tons. The total output volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2017 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 20%. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at 541K tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year. Mango and mangosteen output in Peru indicated prominent growth, which was largely conditioned by a buoyant increase of the harvested area and moderate growth in yield figures.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen production shrank to $641M in 2022 estimated in export price. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% from 2017 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the production volume increased by 19% against the previous year. Mango and mangosteen production peaked at $675M in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the harvested area increased by 7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year.
