In 2022, approx. 25M tons of onions (dry) were produced in China; leveling off at the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, production recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the production volume increased by 1.4%. Onion production peaked at 25M tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.
