In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in production of onions (dry), when its volume decreased by -6.5% to 54K tons. In general, production saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the production volume increased by 34%. Onion production peaked at 62K tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum. Onion output in Denmark indicated a noticeable decline, which was largely conditioned by a noticeable descent of the harvested area and a mild decrease in yield figures.
