Pumpkin Production in Indonesia - 2022
In 2022, production of pumpkin (squash and gourds) in Indonesia expanded to 531K tons, increasing by 4.7% on 2021. In general, production, however, saw a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum volume at 567K tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure. Pumpkin output in Indonesia indicated a mild contraction, which was largely conditioned by a slight shrinkage of the harvested area and a relatively flat trend pattern in yield figures.
In value terms, pumpkin production soared to $197M in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 122% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $228M. From 2021 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.
Pumpkin Harvested Area in Indonesia - 2022
In 2022, the total area harvested in terms of pumpkin (squash and gourds) production in Indonesia expanded slightly to 8K ha, growing by 2.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the harvested area, however, showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, the harvested area dedicated to pumpkin production reached the maximum at 8.9K ha in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the harvested area failed to regain momentum.
Pumpkin Yield in Indonesia - 2022
In 2022, the average pumpkin yield in Indonesia rose to 67 tons per ha, picking up by 2.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, the yield continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. As a result, the yield attained the peak level of 68 tons per ha. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the average pumpkin yield remained at a lower figure.
