In 2022, production of soya beans decreased by -6.1% to 41K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total output volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2017 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%. As a result, production reached the peak volume of 43K tons, and then declined in the following year. Soya bean output in Angola indicated a pronounced expansion, which was largely conditioned by a perceptible expansion of the harvested area and a pronounced increase in yield figures.
In value terms, soya bean production reduced to $57M in 2022 estimated in export price.
