Vegetable Product Production in Thailand - 2022
In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in production of vegetable products, when its volume increased by 38% to 92M tons. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak volume of 135M tons. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure. Vegetable product output in Thailand indicated a relatively flat trend pattern, which was largely conditioned by a relatively flat trend pattern of the harvested area and a mild descent in yield figures.
In value terms, vegetable product production shrank to $35.6B in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a precipitous shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 3.3%. Vegetable product production peaked at $133.8B in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Vegetable Product Harvested Area in Thailand - 2022
In 2022, the total area harvested in terms of vegetable products production in Thailand expanded slightly to 1.5M ha, picking up by 2.7% on the previous year. The harvested area increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2017 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the harvested area increased by 28%. Over the period under review, the harvested area dedicated to vegetable product production reached the maximum at 1.8M ha in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the harvested area failed to regain momentum.
Vegetable Product Yield in Thailand - 2022
The average yield of vegetable products in Thailand skyrocketed to 60 tons per ha in 2022, picking up by 34% on 2021. In general, the yield, however, saw a slight decrease. The vegetable product yield peaked at 75 tons per ha in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the yield failed to regain momentum.
