Wood Chips and Particles Production in Turkey - 2022
In 2022, the amount of wood chips and particles produced in Turkey dropped modestly to 123K cubic meters, falling by -2% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, production showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 4.2% against the previous year. Wood chips and particles production peaked at 130K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood chips and particles production dropped dramatically to $30M in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 581% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $142M. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.
