Pumpkin Price in China (FOB) - 2023
The average pumpkin export price stood at $494 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -10.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 23% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $742 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,447 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($412 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Pumpkin Price in China (CIF) - 2022
The average pumpkin import price stood at $268 per ton in 2022, which is down by -71.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 86%. The import price peaked at $925 per ton in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($949 per ton), while the price for Myanmar amounted to $159 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+12.5%).
Pumpkin Exports in China
In 2022, pumpkin exports from China shrank rapidly to 13K tons, reducing by -61.1% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports recorded a sharp shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 23%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 33K tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, pumpkin exports contracted remarkably to $10M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a significant contraction. Pumpkin Imports in China
