Pumpkin Price in Morocco (FOB) - 2023
In December 2022, the average pumpkin export price amounted to $756 per ton, reducing by -11.3% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated slight growth from June 2022 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7% over the last six-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, pumpkin export price decreased by -11.3% against November 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 70% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $969 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,003 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mauritania ($341 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average pumpkin import price stood at $1,060 per ton in 2022, dropping by -51.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 218% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,515 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of pumpkin (squash and gourds), when their volume increased by 21% to 46K tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a pronounced contraction.
In value terms, pumpkin exports skyrocketed to $46M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
