Pumpkin Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average pumpkin import price amounted to $1,421 per ton, waning by -4.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,806 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,759 per ton), while the price for Italy ($663 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Pumpkin Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average pumpkin export price amounted to $826 per ton, declining by -21.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a temperate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 89% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,240 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($1,057 per ton) and Norway ($960 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($926 per ton) and Serbia ($940 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+17.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pumpkin Imports in Poland
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of pumpkin (squash and gourds) decreased by -5.6% to 24K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 15% against the previous year.
In value terms, pumpkin imports surged to $35M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Pumpkin Exports in Poland
