Pyrethrum and Peppermint Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pyrethrum and peppermint export price amounted to $4,280 per ton, declining by -12.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,941 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($10,560 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($3,343 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+11.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pyrethrum and Peppermint Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average pyrethrum and peppermint import price amounted to $4,014 per ton, declining by -33.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 63% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,283 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($13,677 per ton), while the price for Azerbaijan ($1,067 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pyrethrum and Peppermint Exports in Croatia
In 2022, approx. 6.9K tons of pyrethrum and peppermint were exported from Croatia; increasing by 14% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +86.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
