The average quartzite export price stood at $149 per ton in 2022, rising by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($253 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($93 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Quartzite Imports in Egypt
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of quartzite decreased by -26.4% to 166 tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 225 tons, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
