The average quartzite import price stood at $108 per ton in June 2023, rising by 3.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $187 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to -4.5% per month.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 163% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
