In 2022, the average quartzite import price amounted to $222 per ton, shrinking by -11.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 23%. The import price peaked at $251 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($309 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($130 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 15%. The export price peaked at $133 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Japan.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Japan amounted to -1.7% per year.
