Rare Gases Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022
The average rare gases import price stood at $40 per cubic meter in 2022, increasing by 40% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, rare gases import price increased by +65.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($70 per cubic meter), while the price for Slovenia ($5.5 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Algeria (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Rare Gases Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2023
The average rare gases export price stood at $23.3 per cubic meter in October 2023, picking up by 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 4.6% month-to-month. The export price peaked in October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($34.8 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Albania ($20.7 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Rare Gases Imports in Serbia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of rare gases (excluding argon), when their volume decreased by -16.7% to 112K cubic meters. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 135K cubic meters in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
In value terms, rare gases imports soared to $4.5M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +24.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +94.0% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 33% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 55%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 85K cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, rare gases exports expanded modestly to $3.4M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +23.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +88.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 78%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
