Raspberry and Blackberry Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average raspberry and blackberry import price amounted to $8,586 per ton, growing by 34% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated notable growth from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, raspberry and blackberry import price increased by +33.9% against August 2023 indices. The import price peaked at $11,768 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($12,475 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($1,188 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Raspberry and Blackberry Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
The average raspberry and blackberry export price stood at $9,699 per ton in September 2023, growing by 34% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a mild increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, raspberry and blackberry export price increased by +34.4% against August 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 49% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,380 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Romania ($25,244 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($4,357 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Raspberry and Blackberry Imports in Germany
In 2022, approx. 45K tons of raspberries and blackberries were imported into Germany; waning by -3.8% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 6.2% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 47K tons, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
In value terms, raspberry and blackberry imports reduced to $341M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 16%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $377M, and then contracted in the following year.

Raspberry and Blackberry Exports in Germany
In 2022, shipments abroad of raspberries and blackberries was finally on the rise to reach 4.3K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep downturn.
In value terms, raspberry and blackberry exports contracted to $32M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a drastic downturn. The smallest decline of -0.1% was in 2021.
