Raspberry and Blackberry Price in Italy (CIF) - 2022
The average raspberry and blackberry import price stood at $5,848 per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, import price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, raspberry and blackberry import price increased by +53.0% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $5,894 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($9,823 per ton), while the price for Austria ($4,104 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+16.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Raspberry and Blackberry Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
The average raspberry and blackberry export price stood at $8,467 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -10.4% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated moderate growth from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, raspberry and blackberry export price decreased by -42.8% against February 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 34% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $14,791 per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($17,367 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($1,912 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Raspberry and Blackberry Imports in Italy
In 2022, the amount of raspberries and blackberries imported into Italy totaled 10K tons, rising by 2.7% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
