Refined Coconut Oil Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average refined coconut oil export price amounted to $3,990 per ton, declining by -19.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 51% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,808 per ton. From December 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($9,272 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($826 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average refined coconut oil import price amounted to $6,121 per ton, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 189%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($25,000 per ton), while the price for Germany ($4,708 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+31.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Coconut Oil Exports in Thailand
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of refined coconut (copra) oil decreased by -52.8% to 731 tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 18%.
In value terms, refined coconut oil exports declined remarkably to $3.8M in 2022. In general, exports showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year.

For the third year in a row, Thailand recorded decline in supplies from abroad of refined coconut (copra) oil, which decreased by -81.4% to 23 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a precipitous contraction. The smallest decline of -21.2% was in 2021.
In value terms, refined coconut oil imports shrank significantly to $142K in 2022. In general, imports saw a precipitous descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $723K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
