Refined Groundnut Oil Price in Oman (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average refined groundnut oil import price amounted to $2,244 per ton, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, refined groundnut oil import price increased by +65.4% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 29%. The import price peaked at $2,256 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,361 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($586 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average refined groundnut oil export price stood at $758 per ton in 2022, waning by -23.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 55%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $3,448 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($7,168 per ton), while the average price for exports to Yemen totaled $709 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (-5.3%).
Refined Groundnut Oil Imports in Oman
In 2022, refined groundnut oil imports into Oman surged to 30 tons, increasing by 34% compared with 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
In value terms, refined groundnut oil imports skyrocketed to $67K in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -20.1% against 2020 indices.
