Refined Palm Oil Price in Venezuela (CIF) - 2022
The average refined palm oil import price stood at $1,285 per ton in 2022, rising by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 36%. The import price peaked at $1,336 per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($2,326 per ton), while the price for the United States ($915 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+27.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Refined Palm Oil Price in Venezuela (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average refined palm oil export price amounted to $619 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 58% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $947 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Colombia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Colombia amounted to -3.9% per year.
Refined Palm Oil Imports in Venezuela
After two years of decline, overseas purchases of refined palm oil increased by 55% to 21K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, refined palm oil imports surged to $27M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +84.3% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Refined Palm Oil Exports in Venezuela
In 2022, shipments abroad of refined palm oil decreased by -37.1% to 342 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports faced a dramatic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 9% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 758 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, refined palm oil exports shrank notably to $212K in 2022. In general, exports faced a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $473K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
