Rice Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average rice export price amounted to $377 per ton, which is down by -10.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 17%. The export price peaked at $474 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($567 per ton), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($323 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to El Salvador (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average rice import price stood at $604 per ton in September 2023, surging by 8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 9.3% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in September 2023.
