Safety Glass Price in Bulgaria (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average safety glass export price amounted to $27.1 per square meter, waning by -11.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 19% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $30.6 per square meter in May 2023, and then dropped in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($57.5 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($9.2 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Safety Glass Price in Bulgaria (CIF) - 2023
The average safety glass import price stood at $26.3 per square meter in June 2023, falling by -8.3% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 21% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $30.3 per square meter. From March 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($35.5 per square meter), while the price for Iran ($15.5 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Safety Glass Exports in Bulgaria
In 2022, the amount of safety glass exported from Bulgaria expanded slightly to 4.1M square meters, with an increase of 2.2% against 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, safety glass exports soared to $92M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +59.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
