Safety Glass Price in Latvia (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average safety glass import price amounted to $37.3 per square meter, rising by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $58.1 per square meter. From February 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($104 per square meter), while the price for Belarus ($13.7 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Safety Glass Price in Latvia (FOB) - 2023
The average safety glass export price stood at $47.6 per square meter in September 2023, with a decrease of -14.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 40% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $98.9 per square meter. From May 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($162 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($30.1 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of safety glass imported into Latvia expanded notably to 442K square meters, surging by 6.6% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at 442K square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
