In value terms, the largest salts of acetic acid importing markets worldwide were India ($88M), the United States ($83M) and Germany ($40M), together accounting for 40% of global imports. In value terms, China ($90M), the Netherlands ($80M) and Germany ($44M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 54% of global exports. Taiwan (Chinese), the UK, the United States, Belgium, India, France, Canada and Japan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.

Among the main exporting countries, Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +13.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average salts of acetic acid export price amounted to $2,633 per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 19% against the previous year.
