Sauce and Seasoning Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average sauce and seasoning import price stood at $3,370 per ton in September 2022, dropping by -2.5% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a measured expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, sauce and seasoning import price decreased by -2.7% against July 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2021 when the average import price increased by 146% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,709 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to September 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,889 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,156 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sauce and Seasoning Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In September 2022, the average sauce and seasoning export price amounted to $4,207 per ton, picking up by 3.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 20% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $4,330 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($6,214 per ton), while the average price for exports to Papua New Guinea ($1,202 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sauce and Seasoning Imports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 28K tons of sauces and seasonings were imported into Singapore; with a decrease of -65.8% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a dramatic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 21%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 82K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, sauce and seasoning imports fell remarkably to $56M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 9.1%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $184M, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
