Sausage Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average sausage export price amounted to $6,449 per ton, growing by 1.8% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,668 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($7,482 per ton) and Sweden ($7,182 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($5,361 per ton) and Hungary ($6,092 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sausage Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average sausage import price amounted to $7,684 per ton, which is down by -2.1% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 23% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,847 per ton, and then fell modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($11,752 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,524 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sausage Exports in Germany
For the third consecutive year, Germany recorded decline in shipments abroad of sausages and similar products of meat, which decreased by -1.2% to 153K tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible decline.
In value terms, sausage exports contracted to $804M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 9.5% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $869M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
