In 2022, the average selenium import price amounted to $29,944 per ton, jumping by 63% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 153%. The import price peaked at $59,946 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($49,909 per ton), while the price for Italy ($14,339 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+20.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
