Semiconductor Device Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average semiconductor device import price amounted to $10 per unit, which is down by -40.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 552%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $17 per unit, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($44 per unit), while the price for Italy ($0.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+38.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Semiconductor Device Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2021
The average semiconductor device export price stood at $58.1 per unit in November 2021, with a decrease of -6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 an increase of 196% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $69.3 per unit in July 2021; however, from August 2021 to November 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In November 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($185 per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($10.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2020 to November 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+41.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Semiconductor Device Imports in Ireland
In 2022, approx. 6.9M units of semiconductor devices were imported into Ireland; shrinking by -4.1% against the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 9%. Imports peaked at 8.7M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, semiconductor device imports fell rapidly to $70M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 610%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $123M, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Semiconductor Device Exports in Ireland
In 2022, shipments abroad of semiconductor devices increased by 42% to 3M units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The exports peaked at 5M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, semiconductor device exports shrank sharply to $58M in 2022. Overall, exports showed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 213%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $88M, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
