Semiconductor LED Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average semiconductor LED import price amounted to $3 per unit, waning by -30.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $81 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to -24.2% per year.
Semiconductor LED Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average semiconductor LED export price amounted to $55 per unit, surging by 7.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded temperate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 138%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $87 per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($112 per unit), while the average price for exports to China ($12 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Semiconductor LED Imports in Brazil
In 2022, overseas purchases of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) decreased by -13.9% to 536M units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 107%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 623M units, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, semiconductor LED imports reduced rapidly to $1.6B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 133%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.7B, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Semiconductor LED Exports in Brazil
For the third consecutive year, Brazil recorded decline in shipments abroad of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs), which decreased by -77.4% to 14K units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant decline. The smallest decline of -10% was in 2021. The exports peaked at 87K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, semiconductor LED exports declined sharply to $753K in 2022. In general, exports showed a dramatic decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $3.1M, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
