Sesame Oil Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
The average sesame oil export price stood at $7,202 per ton in August 2023, declining by -19.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 21% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8,937 per ton in July 2023, and then dropped notably in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($10,783 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($5,438 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average sesame oil import price stood at $4,795 per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 13%. The import price peaked at $5,060 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($8,546 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($1,455 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
