Sesame Seed Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average sesame seed import price amounted to $2,549 per ton, rising by 5.4% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated measured growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, sesame seed import price decreased by -1.7% against July 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 44% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,593 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($4,734 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($2,145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
