In 2022, the average sheep; live import price amounted to $464 per unit, which is down by -8.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 104% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $508 per unit in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,290 per unit), while the price for the United States stood at $253 per unit.
