Shelled Bean Price in Israel (CIF) - 2022

The average shelled bean import price stood at $1,463 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by 99%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,512 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Argentina ($1,463 per ton) and India ($1,463 per ton), while the price for Peru ($1,463 per ton) and Canada ($1,463 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Shelled Bean Price in Israel (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average shelled bean export price amounted to $3,881 per ton, rising by 292% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a strong expansion. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -5.0% per year.

Shelled Bean Imports in Israel

In 2022, purchases abroad of shelled beans (dry) decreased by -47.9% to 312 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 634 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, shelled bean imports dropped dramatically to $457K in 2022. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 74%.
