Shrimp Price in Argentina (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average shrimp export price amounted to $7,248 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 13%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,721 per ton), while the average price for exports to Peru ($6,450 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, shrimp exports from Argentina amounted to 162K tons, with an increase of 2.2% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 23% against the previous year.
