The average shrimp import price stood at $9,275 per ton in June 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 5.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $11,077 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($11,575 per ton), while the price for China ($7,159 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In June 2023, the average shrimp export price amounted to $7,881 per ton, growing by 37% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($10,540 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($2,915 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
