In June 2023, the average shrimp import price amounted to $5,612 per ton, rising by 2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 6.5% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $6,903 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($6,301 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $4,962 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (-1.4%).

In June 2023, the average shrimp export price amounted to $24,343 per ton, growing by 2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $30,945 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
