Shrimp Price in India (FOB) - 2023
The average shrimp export price stood at $6,794 per ton in June 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a mild setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 1.4% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $7,909 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($8,244 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($5,241 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (-0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average shrimp import price amounted to $13,460 per ton, increasing by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 105%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $25,257 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($26,295 per ton), while the price for the UK ($4,506 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
