Shrimp Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average shrimp import price amounted to $8,033 per ton, waning by -3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $8,593 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($11,619 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($6,533 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average shrimp export price stood at $9,455 per ton in September 2023, falling by -4.6% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 28% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $9,906 per ton in August 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($13,735 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($2,043 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Shrimp Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, imports of shrimps into Lithuania reached 2.9K tons, increasing by 13% on 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +19.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.7% against 2019 indices.
