Shrimp Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2024
In September 2023, the average shrimp import price amounted to $8,612 per ton, growing by 16% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 38% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $10,737 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($11,503 per ton), while the price for China ($6,224 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Shrimp Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022
The average shrimp export price stood at $6,909 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 82%. The export price peaked at $14,124 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Montenegro.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Sweden amounted to +72.0% per year.
Shrimp Imports in Serbia
In 2022, the amount of shrimps imported into Serbia rose significantly to 319 tons, surging by 14% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 48%.
In value terms, shrimp imports surged to $2.7M in 2022.
