Shrimp Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average shrimp import price stood at $8,515 per ton in September 2022, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a measured increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, shrimp import price decreased by -0.8% against March 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 31% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $8,601 per ton in August 2022, and then fell slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($13,515 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($6,577 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
