Shrimp Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
The average shrimp import price stood at $14,175 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -9.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,588 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($18,700 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($7,113 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average shrimp export price amounted to $13,185 per ton, reducing by -24.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 49% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $20,891 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($14,833 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($7,852 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
