Shrimp Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023
The average shrimp import price stood at $7,031 per ton in March 2023, rising by 18% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 23% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $8,663 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to March 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($7,818 per ton), while the price for India amounted to $6,330 per ton.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average shrimp export price stood at $9,243 per ton in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
