The average shrimp export price stood at $10,592 per ton in May 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,079 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to May 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($13,833 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($4,392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $9,317 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
