Skim Milk Price in the UK (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average skim milk export price amounted to $682 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 65% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,521 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Ireland ($1,133 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($403 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Skim Milk Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
The average skim milk import price stood at $864 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -10.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 162% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $975 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($871 per ton), while the price for France stood at $734 per ton.
From August 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+8.1%).
Skim Milk Exports in the UK
In 2022, skim milk exports from the UK shrank significantly to 6.8K tons, declining by -65.7% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports faced a dramatic descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year.
In value terms, skim milk exports dropped dramatically to $11M in 2022. Overall, exports saw a sharp shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 47% against the previous year.
