Sorghum Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average sorghum import price amounted to $349 per ton, growing by 9.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $959 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($364 per ton), while the price for Hungary amounted to $342 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average sorghum export price stood at $1,957 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 340% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The export price peaked at $14,013 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($4,809 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+47.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sorghum Imports in Serbia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of sorghum, when their volume decreased by -54.8% to 474 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 307%.
