Soups Price in Japan (FOB) - 2023
The average soups export price stood at $4,926 per ton in July 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $5,373 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($7,656 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($2,994 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Soups Price in Japan (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average soups import price amounted to $4,062 per ton, with a decrease of -8.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $4,929 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($7,229 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,229 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Soups Exports in Japan
In 2022, exports of soups and broths from Japan rose sharply to 21K tons, increasing by 12% compared with the previous year. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.
