Soybean Oil Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average soybean oil import price stood at $876 per ton in July 2023, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 3.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,390 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,488 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($836 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (-0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Soybean Oil Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average soybean oil export price amounted to $1,033 per ton, surging by 5.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The export price peaked at $1,528 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($1,375 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($868 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (-0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Soybean Oil Imports in Poland
Soybean oil imports into Poland was estimated at 228K tons in 2022, approximately reflecting 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 115% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, soybean oil exports expanded notably to $139M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate significant growth.
