Sparkling Wine Price in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average sparkling wine import price amounted to $9.4 per litre, flattening at the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sparkling wine import price decreased by -18.6% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12 per litre. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($31 per litre), while the price for Myanmar ($1.5 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sparkling Wine Imports in Bangladesh
In 2022, the amount of sparkling wine imported into Bangladesh reduced to 5.9K litres, declining by -10.6% compared with the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 12K litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sparkling wine imports reduced to $55K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a dramatic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $131K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
